Since its founding, the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church has been the most anti-Catholic church ever to exist. The SDA church has taught for over 170 years that the first beast of the book of Revelation is the Roman Catholic Church. Historic Adventist teachings on the Sabbath and the Trinity lie in opposition to Catholic doctrine, and the SDA church has always considered itself the remnant (true) church.
In recent years, however, the Adventist church has embraced Catholic doctrines that previously it vehemently opposed. The eagerness of SDA leaders to align the Adventist church with the Catholic Church calls into question the Adventist position toward Rome and the papacy. The abandoning of foundational teachings by leaders at the highest levels of the SDA church begs the question: Has a hidden hand behind the administration of the Seventh-day Adventist church orchestrated a marriage of the Adventist and Catholic churches?
